Letter to the editor

Charles Clifton

To the editor:

I spoke at Professor Carroll Grimes’ memorial, though my name did not appear in Professor Lee Wood’s summary of the event in The Advocate (Sept. 28). Carroll was a very dear friend, and I want it known that I spoke for her. Every other speaker was mentioned. It seems to me a poor journalistic practice to omit one name. I was there! I spoke! I thought I created some memorable images of my friend, Carroll. Also, at the end of the memorial, Professor Jeff Webb sand a beautiful Irish hymn, also not mentioned.

Sincerely,

Charles Clifton

Professor Emeritus
